What a LOVE-ly idea!

So have you ever seen this website? Well I stumbled on it during our month of LOVE! (Yeah, don't judge me, that was Feb.) In our family for about a two week period, we get to celebrate Valentines, our Anniversary and my birthday.
Since this anniversary was 6 years, I tried to do something that was 'iron' related. So I came up with this 'iron' muffin tin. :) Cheesy....totally! So then we spent the evening reading 24 things that I L.O.V.E. about my hubby. I loved doing this. It was a nice experience for me to reflect back on all the things that I really like about my husband. Go ahead, give it a try!

Baby!

So with the birth of a new baby, comes BABY projects! To try and induce labor, I decided to start this car seat canopy. It didn't really work, but I ended up having to finish it a week or so after she was born.
This is not your normal canopy. I just can't handle doing things the easy way. So I added a ruffle and flowers on the straps. And did I mention that I love pink and brown? They are my favorite combo. And I get to keep using it since I keep having girls. :)

Christmas!

So for Christmas, I did this Nativity cross-stitch for my mom. It is a great project when you are put on bedrest...lots of hours of just sitting. :)

Other Past Projects

So this scarf I made during last tax season. It is from one of my fav sites you can find here. I also made a shirt, but I didn't take a pic of it when I was skinny. So stay tuned. :) Kevin informed me he wanted to be a part of my crafty blog. :) So here is one of his projects....refinishing a dresser. He actually did two of these, one for each of our girls. They turned out wonderful. He is welcome anytime on here with awesome projects like these.
Get ready for my honey-do list.

Sister's Quilt

Every Christmas I like to create some handmade, special gifts. This last year, I had my sister for Christmas. Her favorite color is sage green and she likes it with pink. So I picked out these pieces to assemble a quilt. I googled free quilt patterns and found this one somewhere. Sorry to have lost the link, but I did change it a bit, so it isn't totally the pattern. :) Some of the quilt pieces were embroidered flowers. I love to do embroidery, so this was right up my alley. For sentimental purposes, the back of the quilt is scenes of one or two girls together. There are three girls in my fam, so I thought that this could be all of us sisters together. So as my sister is away at college, she can take a little bit of us with her. Happy quilting!

Welcome!

So I started a blog awhile back to showcase some of the vinyl work that I have done. I love Super Saturdays! I have done a few of them and the vinyl for them....they are awesome! So if you want to see some of the vinyl projects I have done, you can check out jensvinyl.blogspot.com Or click on it on the right of this blog.

But, I love to create other things too! Hence my new blog.....Jen's Other Projects! :) I grew up in the Arts: singing, dancing, acting. Since I have 3 girls (almost) to take care of; singing, dancing, acting are a little hard to squeeze in. But I love to create still. I have found other ways to express my creativity and I can do it right here at home! So here are some projects I have done in the past. And stay tuned for future projects!
First off...the hoodie towel. I don't know how many of these I have made. I like to give them at baby showers. So many of you reading this have received one or two from me. :) Here is one I actually took a picture of. (Obviously for a friend since I have only girls:)
And here to model a girly version....Camilla! At Christmas, I love to make all sorts of fun crafts. Here I made some mitten ornaments. And I gave them away. :)
Here is somewhere I hope to improve on over the course of this blog.....cooking! I feel like I can cook decent. Side note here: I can do a lot of different things, but I am just mediocre. I don't really excel in one area over another, I just can do a lot of things...so so. So anyway, I am hoping to get better at presentation, especially cakes. Who doesn't love an amazing looking cake for their birthday. (If I get brave, I'll share my cake-wrecks with you)
This cake is amazing, however. It is my husband's request each birthday. The cake.....Cloud Cake and it is to die for! It is a white cake with pineapple, coconut pudding, whip cream and coconut= awesomeness! Stay tuned for OTHER PROJECTS!
